As the second of 2 qualifying heats for Thompson International Speedway's Limited Sportsman division circled the track on its pace laps, a member of the HDNET television crew asked an innocent question.
"Are these the PASS Series cars?"
Look, PASS is known across North America -- from Nova Scotia to Florida, from Connecticut to Texas. Hey, you may never have seen them race, but is it unrealistic to expect that someone with a racing pedigree would be able to tell the difference between a 1980 Pontiac and a purpose-built Super Late Model chassis?
I mean, click on the Internet and look around. You'll see that while they may not have "NASCAR Race Car" stickers affixed to them, but PASS North Series cars are typically professional in their appearance and their product.

I guess if you keep saying "PASS is known nationwide" enough, everyone will start to believe you.
People in southern California probably think their regional late model touring series is big enough that people from outside the area oughta know of them; ditto for people in Florida, Texas, Minnesota - but I don't think anyone in Maine knows anything about them. Same probably goes for PASS even if it does have a couple of different divisions and a couple of different areas of the country.
Exactly!
If it's known nationwide in any sense of the word, it's from Bob Dillner throwing in a shameless plug during Cup qualifying on Speed every chance he gets.
